How to Delete a Picture from Kik

Delete a Picture in Chat
You can delete any text, image, or video in Kik chat, by doing the following:
- Click and hold the picture.
- You’ll see a pop up with paste or delete.
- Choose “Delete,” and that’s it.
There might be a situation where you want to delete a message, image, or the entire conversation. This can happen because you no longer wish to talk to a particular contact, or you’ve mistakenly uploaded a wrong photo. Either way, here’s how to delete messages:
- Click and hold the message you want to be deleted.
- You’ll see a pop-up with two options “Paste” and “Delete.”
- Tap on “Delete,” and you’ll no longer be able to see the message.
It’s worth mentioning that you can only delete messages from your device because the app stores them on user’s devices, and you technically can’t delete them from the app itself.
Even if you find some Kik members interesting for a while, if the communication between you two stops, it’s best to make room for new chats by deleting the old ones. If you were wondering whether this process is complicated, it’s not, here’s how to do so:
- Select the Kik chat you wish to delete.
- If you’re using Android, press and hold, and in the pop-up window, choose “Delete Conversation.”
- If you’re using iOS, swipe the conversation and click on “Delete.”
If you deleted a group chat, you are now automatically removed from the group.
Clearing All Message History
From time to time, some users like to have a clean slate and delete all chats. If you want to do this in Kik, this is the process:
- Click on the “Settings” menu and select “Chat Settings.”
- Click on “Clear Tap History,” and all your chats will be deleted.

Profile Management on Kik

Your display name on Kik could be anything from a nickname, pseudonym, or anything else. When you decide to change it, you’ll need to go to “Settings,” get into “Your Account,” and tap on “Name.”
If you decide to change your profile picture and upload a new one, the process is relatively straightforward. You’ll need to open your “Settings” and click on your photo to see two options, “Take Picture” and “Choose Existing.” When you decide which one you want to use, simply tap “Use Photo” or “Choose” to save it.
To keep your Kik friends updated on how you’re feeling every day, open your “Settings” menu, and tap on the sticker icon. When you choose the emoji, click “Done,” and it will become visible to everyone.
Kik also introduced the option to change the background image on your profile. The process is the same as when you’re changing the profile picture, but you need to go to “Settings” and click on “Set Background Photo.”
Chat Bubble Color
Users who like to personalize every platform they’re using love this option on Kik. If you want to make your Kik chats colorful, you can do this by going to “Settings” and then in “Chat Settings.” There’s an option “Chat Bubble Color,” where you can choose the color you like.
How to Temporary Deactivate Your Account
If you realized that you need a break from Kik, you can easily deactivate your account and reactivate it when you feel like returning to it. When you decide to deactivate it, you’ll stop getting messages, notifications, and your name will disappear from other members’ contacts. You can do so by going to the deactivation website, where you’ll need to leave your email address.
Of course, you can reactivate your account Kik account by signing in. If you forget your username or password, you’re able to reset them using your registration email address.
