How to Get the Subscribe Button in Snapchat
Once you become an official Snapchat Creator, you get the Subscribe button next to your name. What do you need to do to get that coveted button and grow your Snapchat following? And is that the same as being verified by Snapchat?
Become a Creator to Get the Subscribe Button
There aren’t many profiles with the Subscribe button, and that’s because Snapchat has specific rules and standards for them. To get it, you have to become a Snapchat Creator.
There are two ways a Snapchatter can go from the regular profile to the Creator profile and earn the Subscribe button.
The first one is to create original Lenses. It’s one of the features Snapchat is most famous for, and they’re always on the lookout for more Lenses. You can go to the Lens Studio and start your journey to the Subscribe button there.
The other way to obtain a Creator profile and get the Subscribe badge is to create plenty of content and share it with as many people as possible. When you make an effort to create fresh and engaging content, Snapchat takes notice and rewards you.
However, the process is gradual. You have to post quite often and deliver consistent quality. Successful creators typically have their niche, and they stick to it. Also, you should use as many Snapchat tools as possible. Make use of all the filters and Lenses you can, and most importantly – share content with your friends.
The Discover Page
The Subscribe button can come and go. If you engage less with your audience or start posting less, you could temporarily lose the button. But if you maintain the status of your page, the next step is to go to the Discover page. The Discover icon is in the bottom right corner of the Camera screen. That’s where all the popular profiles are, and yours can be there if your Creator Profile is big enough.
To get to the Discover page, your Stories need to be public, popular and contain appropriate content.
Snapchat doesn’t state the exact number of shares your Stories need to have to earn you the Subscribe button. But it’s in the range of 20,000 per post. Let’s say you have 1,000 followers. Each of them would have to send your Story to 20 people to make that happen. It seems like a lot, but many Snapchat users are very successful at that.
The verification process on social media is a big deal. Especially if you’re trying to establish a brand or make a career on the platform. Snapchat, like YouTube and Instagram, has verified profiles. It can confirm celebrities only by proving their identity.
For others, it’s the final step in building the Creator Profile. Once your posts get over 50,000 views, you’ll likely receive an email from Snapchat, inviting you to make your account official and verified.
And remember, it’s not just about the number of views, it’s also about how fast your page is growing. Sometimes, however, even when your page is growing exponentially, you might not get the invitation in the mail.
It sometimes happens when people start to impersonate you. Snapchat might hesitate to promote you to an official account if they’re not sure about your identity. But there is something you can do about it.
The quickest way to resolve the issue is to go directly to Snapchat. Here are the steps to follow:
- Open Snapchat on your mobile device.
- Go to Settings and then to “Support.”
- Then select the “Contact US” option.
- Next, tap the “My Snapchat isn’t working” option.
- Scroll down and select “Other.”
- Under the “Need help with something else?” select “Yes.”
- Finally, select the “My issue is not the listed option.”
- Submit the form.
That’s where you can explain the issue in detail. You can also attach a proof of your identity, and anything else you can think of that will convince Snapchat that you are who you say you are. If Snapchat declines your request, you can always re-submit.
However, keep in mind that having duplicate accounts can’t be the only reason for the request to be verified. The number one prerequisite is to have a viral account that already has the Subscribe button.
Build Your Reputation with Snapchat
Some people love Instagram, while others flock to Twitter and Facebook. But Snapchat has its appeal, and it can be an excellent platform for creative people. If you’re a designer, creating filters and lenses can be a great way to make your name in the industry. If you love posting fun Stories and engaging in all sorts of creative ideas, you can earn the Subscribe button, and even get verified.
