3 Ways to Untag Yourself From Facebook Posts

Method 1: Untag From Facebook Posts Using the Three Dots

Step 1: Find the post you’re tagged in. If you can’t remember which post it was, head to your Activity Log (also called Notifications) and look for recent activity that shows you were tagged.

Method 2: Hide Posts From Your Profile

This method won’t untag from Facebook posts but it will stop that post appearing on your profile. You can use this to avoid posts you don’t mind being tagged in but that might be emotional or simply mildly embarrassing.

Step 1: Instead of going directly to the post, head to your own Facebook profile page. The post in which you were recently tagged should be visible on your profile.

Method 3: Report a Post That Breaches Your Privacy

If you followed the untag from Facebook steps but feel that the photo or post breaches your privacy in some way, you can report it and ask Facebook to remove it. Use this method if someone has accidentally shared your address, employment details, or images of your children, for example. Facebook will only remove photos that they feel violate their community standards or break the law in some way.

Step 1: Click this link to find the relevant form.

Step 2: Fill out all the requested details and press Send. You may have to wait several days for a decision from Facebook. Remember, you can’t use this form just because you don’t like a particular photo or post. It’s only for situations where someone’s privacy is at risk.
