Home Social Media How to Deactivate and Delete Triller Account
The time before social media only dwells in memories of the people old enough to remember it. Everyone else takes social media as they are, a part of everyone’s life, for better or for worse. Nothing on the internet is inherently good or bad, it’s all about how you use it.
But, every once in a while, you just want to cut the invisible umbilical cord off and take a break from the social media. If that is the case with Triller app, you can deactivate and delete your account if you want to.
When you download the Triller app, you’ll immediately notice that it’s pretty intuitive and relatively easy to use. For the creative types who love music and dancing, this is a great outlet to release their unique content.
However, there aren’t that many safety settings and privacy options, and it may bother the more vigilant users. You can make your account and your posts private, but there aren’t that many additional options.
Another thing you might notice is that there isn’t an option to deactivate or delete Triller account. You can always just uninstall the app. Which just means pressing and holding on the Triller icon app and then selecting “Uninstall”. But, this doesn’t mean your account has been deleted or deactivated.
The official Triller website lists this email address as the only place to get information about deleting your account. What you need to do is send an email explaining that you want your account deactivated and deleted to that email address. It’s probably best to send it from the email address you used to create your Triller account.
Typically, you will receive an answer within several hours, informing you that the account associated with that email address has been deleted. It’s a bit of a hassle, but it all happens pretty quickly.
Triller is an app made for pure entertainment. Most of its users are young and very enthusiastic about creating music videos. It might have started just like a video editing app, but Triller quickly developed into a fully-fledged social media platform where users can share their content and interact with each other. It’s also about expressing yourself and having that music video moment most people only dream about.
There are dance challenges and lip-syncing challenges you can partake in. It’s also a very good way to discover new and lesser-known artists. Many of them have found internet fame through this platform. Triller app allows you to use your own music library, or browse through its massive catalog of songs. You can also link Triller to your Spotify playlist and have your curated playlists just one tap away.
Since so many of Triller users are kids as young as 13, it’s worth examining if their presence on the platform is detrimental in any way. Just as it is the case with any other social platform, it’s best to use it with parental supervision. The problem is, obviously, that it’s easier said than done.
When Triller made the transition from being a video editing app to being a social platform, certain concerns naturally arose. Peer pressure and cyber-bullying come to mind. There’s also the question of how well is the privacy of Triller’s youngest users protected.
The answer is, not that well. As with almost every video sharing app or site, the company reserves the right to use anything you post for marketing and commercial purposes. So it’s not that surprising if some parents opt for a full removal of the app, just to be on the safe side.
Triller and similar apps are a great way to exercise your creativity and performance skills. It’s also a really great way to just let go and have some innocent fun.
And if you ever get tired of using it, you can always uninstall it and move on. It’s hard to keep up with all the latest trends and apps, anyway. In the meantime, before you delete your account, you might want to try one of the hashtag challenges and see if there’s a star quality there.
What do you think about Triller’s account deletion policy? Would you make it easier or is it fine as it is? Let us know in the comments section below.
