How to Undo the Most Recent Dubsmash Update
There are so many times when we get our apps updated and aren’t satisfied with what the update has brought us. It could be a technical, design, or UX issue, but we want to go back to how our app was before the update.
If you’re stuck in such a situation with Dubsmash, you’re in luck. We’ll tell you how you can undo the latest update and go back to a previous version of the app.
Undoing the Dubsmash Update on Android
Follow the steps mentioned below to undo an update of Dubsmash on Android.
Step One
You’ll first need to find a few configuration details of your Android device. Later, when you decide to download a particular version of Dubsmash, you’ll have to match the version’s details with your Android configuration.
To do this, download Droid Hardware Info from the Google Play Store.
Step Two
Once the installation is complete, launch the app. Under the Device tab of Droid Hardware Info, you’ll find details of the Android version you’re running. Note the OS Version and DPI under the section called Software Density.
It should look something like this.
Step Three
Tap on the System tab in the Droid Hardware Info app to find out whether your Android device runs on a 32-bit chipset or a 64-bit chipset. You can find this info in the CPU Architecture section.
Keep in mind that 64-bit apps won’t work on 32-bit devices. On the other hand, 32-bit apps will run smoothly on devices that use 64-bit chipsets.
Step Four
Now we can go ahead with downgrading Dubsmash. First, Uninstall the app from your phone.
Launch the Settings app on your phone. From there, tap on My apps and games. Tap Dubsmash and then tap Uninstall.
Step Five
You can’t merely reinstall Dubsmash from the Google Play Store because it will come fully updated. That’s why you need to allow your Android device to install apps from third party sources.
To do this, once again tap on Settings. Then tap on Security and Screen Lock. Go to Unknown Sources, and toggle it on. That will allow your phone to download apps from third-party sources.
Step Six
Launch your browser and go to https://apkmirror.com. Tap the search bar in the upper-right corner of the page. APK Mirror has multiple versions of several thousand apps in its library. You can download a version of Dubsmash that you want. To do this, search the app in the search bar.
Available versions of Dubsmash will be listed in chronological order under All Versions.
Step Seven
Tap the Download button next to the version you want to download. The site will redirect you to the download page.
Step Eight
Tap See Available APKs and then tap the version that suits your phone. The “arm” option is for 32-bit systems and “arm64” for 64-bit phones.
Step Nine
Scroll down and tap Download APK. If a confirmation prompt pops up, tap OK.
Step Ten
Now go to your phone’s Downloads folder and tap the app you downloaded. Next, tap on the Install option in the lower-right corner of the screen. When the app opens for the first time, it’ll ask to access certain features on your phone. Tap Allow, and you’re all set to use the version of Dubsmash as you wanted!
Undoing the Dubsmash Update on iOS
Reversing an app update on iOS-run devices is not nearly as difficult as on Android devices. If you use both an iOS device and a Mac, the process is a piece of cake. You can undo the update via iTunes.
Follow the steps mentioned below to undo an update of Dubsmash on your iOS device. We recommend that you back up the data on your iPhone before going through with these steps.
Step One
First, uninstall the updated version of Dubsmash from your iPhone.
Step Two
Now, plug your iPhone to your Mac or iMac. Then run iTunes and click on the Device icon at the upper-left corner of the screen.
Do not sync your iPhone with your computer at this point. If automatic syncing is active in iTunes, disable it before plugging your phone.
Step Three
Now go to the Applications tab and choose Apps from the left sidebar in iTunes.
Step Four
Locate Dubsmash and hit Install.
Step Five
Once the installation is complete, sync your iPhone to get the older version of Dubsmash back to your phone!
That’s All, Folks!
So, this is how you undo a Dubsmash update on your device. The process remains identical for any other app update on Android. The same goes for iOS-run devices.
