It’s a young entertainer’s paradise.

The growth of Tik Tok has been massive. It’s been downloaded over 1.2 billion times. And young people flock to it. There’s something free, innocent and uninhibited about it. The most famous people on Tik Tok have dozens of millions of followers. But who is the Tik Tok queen and what makes someone so special?

It’s kind of an unbelievable fact, but the most followed person on Tik Tok is a 17-year old girl by the name of Loren Gray (@lorengray). The current count of her followers is 36.9 million followers. This number might not seem that impressive compared to Ariana Grande’s 170 million followers on Instagram. But you have to take everything into account.

First off, Loren Gray made her fame on Tik Tok alone, and graduated to other venues from there. She’s so young and so successful, it hardly seems like it’s possible. She used to host her own show on Snapchat called “Glow Up” and has even been nominated for a Teen Choice and People’s Choice Award. That’s no small feat.

One of the things that makes Lauren so popular, the “Tik Tok queen” is that she’s a singer too. Recently, she released a single by the title “Can’t do It”, which has garnered 1.4 million views since June 2019. It’s a professionally made video, that’s certain to help her launch her singing career in the future. Now, is she everyone’s Tik Tok queen? Who’s to say? There are some potential pretenders to the throne.

Runner Up

With “only” 30 million followers under her belt, a girl who calls herself Baby Ariel is the second most followed person on Tik Tok. Her real name is Ariel Martin and she’s 18 years old. Her Tik Tok fame has led her to work for Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. Just like Loren Gray, her Tik Tok feed is filled with lip-syncing and choreographed videos. There’s also a lot of comedy in the form of sketches.

Third Place

All good things come in threes. And when it comes to Tik Tok, it’s dominated by young women who are very good at promoting themselves. With 23.2 million followers, 20-year old Kristen Hancher is the third most followed queen of Tik Tok. One of her trademarks is colorful wigs that she changes often. She dances, lip-syncs, and does her make up. All three of the girls have verified accounts and have another thing in common. They don’t follow that many people.

How Do you Become Tik Tok Famous?

Young people have fallen in love with Tik Tok. It’s a safe and fun space for them. Someone above the age of 30 might not understand what the big deal about lip-synching and some dance moves. But it’s clear that there’s more to it than that. All social media has certain rules of engagement that will bring you more followers. What about Tik Tok?

Tik Tok savvy kids will tell you right away – you have to find your thing. Something that you’re going to dedicate time and effort to do. At the moment, it’s hard to overstate the popularity of Tik Tok. It kind of feels like it came out of nowhere. Maybe because it’s the only app in the top five that isn’t from the US. Or maybe it’s because it’s where all the young people are at.
