Home Social Media Snapchat How to Start Your Snapchat Streak and Make It Last
Are you new to Snapchat? If so, you must be having a blast on the most interactive and interesting messaging platform around. To keep users interested, Snapchat has some great built-in mechanisms, like “Snapchat streak”.
Starting a Snapchat streak is really easy. Making it last is another thing. If you want to learn how to do that, we’ve got you covered. You won’t get any rewards, per se, for having a Snapchat streak, but keeping the streak alive is a reward on its own.
Anyone who’s had a really long streak with their friends will understand exactly what we mean.
Snapchat is really intuitive and easy to use. You’ll get to know your way around it in no time. Make sure to download and update Snapchat from the official App Store if you’re on iOS, or the Google Play Store if you’re on Android.
Sadly, Snapchat PC support is rather limited and the app is best used on a mobile device (tablet or phone). Once you install the app for the first time and sign up (follow the simple onscreen instructions), you can start building your streak right away.
Snapchat will scan your phone’s contact list for friends to add. Make sure to give it permission to do so the first time you launch the Snapchat app on your device. Other than that, you can find your friends using their username, or their QR code.
If you don’t have enough friends in your phone contacts, don’t worry. Follow the steps below to find more friends on Snapchat:
All that’s left is for your friend to accept the invitation, and you can start sending them Snaps and receiving Snaps in return.
This question has a really simple answer. All you need to do to get a Snapchat streak going is well, you guessed it, send Snaps. Your friend needs to Snap you back and that’s all there is to it. You need to keep this up for at least three days to get the streak started.
On the third day of back and forth Snaps, you’ll notice a fire icon next to your friend’s username in the Chat menu. This means that the streak is on. The only way to keep it is to send your friend Snaps on a daily basis.
There needs to be a 24-hour Snap exchange every day for the streak to last. Note that you can’t send regular chat messages. You need to send Snaps (photos or videos) or else you’ll lose the streak. Stories also don’t count, neither do spectacles nor memories.
None of them will keep the flame alive. That’s a big reason why many people keep using Snapchat every day –to maintain their Snapchat streaks.
You already know the answer to this question, but hold on. How do you actually keep going back to Snapchat and remember to Snap your friends every day? You can easily lose a streak – trust me, I’ve been there.
I’m actually been a very bad friend on Snapchat because I keep forgetting to send a reply to my friends’ Snaps. That’s why I never have a streak with any of them, or even if I do, I lose it quickly. Don’t be like me, remember to reply to your friends.
Even better, you can start the Snap chain to get your Snap streak going. In my humble opinion, the best way to do that is to send Snaps in the morning. When you start your day, hop onto Snapchat and send some early Snaps to your friends.
If you make this a routine, you’ll keep your streak up without any effort. That’s how successful “Snapchatters” do it.
Yes, there definitely is. Keeping a Snapchat streak going will help you keep up with your friends’ busy lives. The other added benefit is that you’ll be increasing your Snapchat score by keeping these streaks up.
Refer to our recent Snapchat score article for more information on that topic. What are your thoughts on the matter? What is the highest streak you’ve had on Snapchat? Let us know in the comments section below.
